RISOE - Risø National Laboratory carries out research in science and technology providing environmentally acceptable methods for agricultural and industrial production as well as the generation of the energy necessary for modern society. Risø does research into several new technologies – from solar cells of plastic to fusion energy – facilitating in this way further progress towards a sustainable energy system thus making the world less dependent on fossil fuels. Risø does research into how to minimize the environmental harm of traditional combustion technologies and how to reduce energy consumption. Risø contributes to development towards a sustainable and reliable global energy supply through research into energy policies and energy systems focusing especially on environmental and climatic consequences – including
in developing countries.
