Brief Description of Organization:

The “Instituto Enerxético de Galicia” (INEGA) was created in 1999 (Law 3/1999, March 11th; published in the Official Journal of Galicia, No.61, March 30th 1999).
On the bases of orienting and defining the energy policy of the Xunta de Galicia, coordinated with the National Energy Plan, the objectives of the INEGA are: to promote the simultaneous development of the economy and employment in Galicia, to ensure satisfaction on energy demand, to encourage rational use of energy by promoting the development of renewable energies reducing dependence on outside sources, and to conserve and protect the environment.
The Instituto Enerxético de Galicia is hereby set up as the public body of the Autonomous Community in charge of the development of the Galician energy policy, with the important advantage of exploiting existing structures in this field for the performance of its tasks.

  • evaluation of renewable resources (wind, solar, biomass, ...) in Galicia
